A community forum has been organised by State Member for Newcastle Jodi McKay, in conjunction with the Islington Village Community Group, to provide an opportunity for local residents to have their concerns addressed in relation to dust and noise impacts from coal train movements into Newcastle.
A range of stakeholders have been invited to attend to provide details on their responsibilities and actions underway to mitigate these impacts. These include: Federal Member for Newcastle Sharon Grierson, Newcastle Council Ward 1 Councillors, The Australian Rail Track Corporation, NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water, Newcastle Port Corporation, Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group, Port Waratah Coal Services, Pacific National and Queensland Rail National.
The forum will be held on Thursday 4 November from 6.00 pm at the Gallipoli Legion Club (Upstairs), 3 Beaumont Street, Hamilton. To RSVP or find out more email email@example.com.
