State Member for Newcastle Jodi McKay came along to the October meeting of the Islington Village Community Group to discuss a range of issues affecting the Islington community. They included proposed plans for the expansion of the coal port, urban renewal in Newcastle West and public safety initiatives in the Islington area. Documents relating to these issues will be posted on this website in the coming days.

Robert Denton from Cardiff also gave the group an insight into the work he’s done in recent years tackling graffiti across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie LGAs. Please report any new graffiti you see to your local police station or call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 so that it can be removed as quickly as possible. Damage to public property should be reported to the Newcastle City Council Graffiti Hotline on 1800 223 840.
